It is happening right before our eyes
like a dark satire with cast and crew
no need to protest, it is a film that is running on its own
and we are in the audience unable to change the plot...
There is a smooth talking leader with a lovely family
who is hard to dislike.
We don't seem to want to talk while the movie is playing
no one is walking out of the theatre
the only way people are leaving is on a stretcher
or by way of police escort into incarceration.
People are turning to religion thinking it is for sure the end
others are taking stock of as much popcorn as they can carry
The movie is suppose to be real life
and the audience has no choice but to find a position
and keep it as long as possible... and be grateful
for the opprotunity to see the screen.
